Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about evaluations, testing, reports, payment, and what to expect throughout the process.
What ages do you evaluate?
We evaluate individuals ages 3 through adulthood. Evaluations are tailored to the individual’s developmental level, concerns, and referral questions.
How long do evaluations typically take?
The evaluation process typically includes an intake session and assessment sessions. Testing usually lasts between 2–4 hours, depending on the child’s needs and abilities.
When will I know the results?
Initial impressions may be shared verbally on the day of testing when appropriate. A comprehensive written report is typically available within 1–2 weeks after testing, and a feedback session is scheduled to review results and recommendations in detail.
What languages do you offer testing in?
Testing is primarily conducted in English. Some assessments or portions of assessments are also available in Spanish. If your child is bilingual or multilingual, language background is carefully considered when selecting assessment tools and interpreting results.
Can the evaluation be done virtually?
CDE’s and consultation sessions are available virtually. For comprehensive evaluations, certain components—such as intake interviews, rating scales, and feedback sessions, may be completed virtually. However, standardized cognitive and academic testing is typically conducted in person
to ensure accuracy and validity.
What should I bring on the day of my child’s full evaluation?
Please ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a well balanced breakfast, and wears comfortable clothing. If possible, arrange for siblings to stay at home. Families may also bring snacks and a jacket.
What documents are required to schedule my child’s evaluation?
Required documents may include intake forms, consent paperwork, and relevant background records. Families are encouraged to share previous evaluations, report cards, standardized test scores, IEPs, 504 Plans, medical or therapy reports, and homeschool portfolios when applicable.
Do you offer counseling services?
We do not provide ongoing counseling services. However, consultation sessions are available to support parents with recommendations and strategies.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Zelle, and credit cards. We are a Step Up For Students provider and can direct
bill Step Up For Students, or families can submit for reimbursement. We currently accept select
insurance plans and are actively working to become credentialed with additional insurance
providers. If we are not currently in network with your plan, we can provide a superbill upon
request for possible out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance provider.
